Cupboard essentials

If you are new to veganism and not sure what to buy for your cupboard, here are some suggestions!

Fresh:
Mushrooms
Courgettes
Aubergines
Lemons
Garlic
Onions
Bananas
Avocados
Strawberries or whatever fruit you prefer
Spinach
Broccoli
Fresh herbs- I like coriander and basil
Salad leaves
Tomatoes

Fridge:
Soy milk or other vegan milk of your choice
Hummus
Olives
Vegan spread
Vegan mayo
Soy yoghurts, if you want, although I find these REALLY sweet
Fake meat slices if you like
Fake cheese!

Cupboard:
Dried mixed herbs
Cayenne pepper
Paprika
Salt
Pepper
Nutritional Yeast Flakes (I get these from a health food store, they are a good vegan essential, partly because they are a good source of vitamin B12! As a vegan it is important you actively include vitamin B12 in your diet. If you can't find the nutritional yeast flakes, buy a supplement. They are really cheap- I just bought 90 days worth of pills for like £1.50)
Cashew nuts (not roasted or salted)
Other nuts of your choice, for toppings, I love walnuts
Raisins
Peanut butter (CHUNKY)
Porridge oats
Mixed spice
Curry powder
Lentils
Rice
Pasta
Vegan chocolate (definitely an essential!)
Olive oil
Stevia (or other sweetener)
Coconut milk
Sundried tomatoes
Chutney
Ketchup or similar
Mixed seeds
Self raising flour
Oatcakes or other cracker
Dried herbs
Balsamic vinegar
Egg replacer! I get the "no- egg" one from Holland and Barrett
Tinned tomatoes
Tinned beans

Frozen:
Peas
Broccoli
Mixed berries
Vegan burgers/ sausages
